Como Park Golf Course, at 1431 Lexington Parkway N, just one mile from Como Lake Bed & Breakfast, is a short, hilly course. It plays to a par 70 and measures about 5800 yards. There is a full-service pro shop and a food service operation. Como Golf Course opened as a nine hole course in 1929 and a second nine holes was added in 1932. In 1986 the course was closed and the new course opened in 1988, including a new clubhouse and a new cart storage facility.

Como Park is one of the top family destinations in the state with more than 1.9 million annual visitors, and Como Zoo and the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory are the two most popular attractions in the park. Entry to both is free, though a voluntary donation of $2 for an adult and $1 for a child is requested, and parking is free. Como Zoo provides children and adults an up-close and personal experience with endangered animals from around the world. The Marjorie McNeely Conservatory is an historic building with several nationally-acclaimed plant collections offering a year-round sensory experience of the flora of the world and delightful seasonal flower shows in the much-loved Sunken Garden. Outside, visitors can explore the serene Como Ordway Memorial Japanese Garden or the whimsical Butterfly Garden.

Minnesota State Fair typically runs the last 10 days of summer, ending on Labor Day. The annual "Great Together" showcases Minnesota‚s finest agriculture, art and industry and provides Minnesotans with their last dose of fried food, carnival rides, music and sunshine before the school year and interminable winter begins.
